Kristine Korpal created this event in loving memory of her father, Karl T. David, who passed away from Alzheimer's Disease in December of 2003. Any time things got tough, his motto was "mind over matter"!
The first Mind Over Matter Bike Event was in 2005 when Kristine and her brother, Kurt, rode their bikes from Harrison Township to Grosse Pointe (and back!) in three hours and 45 minutes. With the help of 12 sponsors, Kristine raised $9,910.00 for the Alzheimer's Association Greater Michigan Chapter to help others with Alzheimer's. Last year Kristine raised an amazing $19,323!
Grab your family and your bikes, and pedal your way to supporting the Alzheimer's Association at the 2008 Mind Over Matter Bike Event! All proceeds will go towards the 2008 Memory Walk totals.
